Flow testing, repairs, upgrades and new installs on the private fire service behind your boundary. Sprinkler systems are outside our scope. Everything else that carries fire water is ours.
The private fire main runs underground from the boundary to your hydrant landing valves, the booster the brigade pumps into, and the hose reels inside. Under AS 1851 all of it is the building owner’s responsibility, not the water authority’s. We test it, fix it and give you the paperwork the certifier wants.

Static pressure can look healthy while the hydrant still fails, because the flow test measures volume under load. Failed results point to the pipework more often than the outlet. Older campus mains are often undersized after buildings were added downstream, and a domestic supply sits behind a pressure-reducing valve while the fire main does not. We flow test first, then price the repair against AS 2419.1.
Booster positioning, brigade hard standing and hydrant clearances are set by the National Construction Code and Queensland fire hydrant rules. Get them wrong and the certifier will not sign. Our crew holds QBCC licensing for the work, and the common faults we find, a seized ball valve on a reel or a hose kinked behind stored stock, are fixed on the same visit as the test.

Find the main and check the booster and reels against the drawings. As-builts are often wrong.
Flow and pressure readings at each landing valve, plus the backflow device condition.
Each item named against the standard it meets, with compliant options.
Certifier paperwork and a Job Safety Analysis with every invoice.
One visit covers the flow test and the hose reel condition. We schedule it around your site calendar.
Essential fire protection systems require clear compliance standards and ongoing care. Here are answers to common questions about keeping your site’s hydrants, mains, and hose reels fully certified and operational:
The building owner, under AS 1851. The water authority's responsibility stops at the boundary.
It depends on the run length, the ground and whether the existing main can carry the flow. We flow test and scope before we price it.
Yes. Neighbouring fire activity drops pressure, and a fast shutdown afterwards can cause water hammer that cracks joints.
Yes. We provide the test results and commissioning paperwork in the format they need.
Six-monthly under AS 1851, with a fuller annual inspection and the hose checked every five years.
Position and access for brigade hard standing are set by the National Construction Code and Queensland clearance rules. We check your booster against both.
A failed flow test on an occupied Brisbane building puts occupancy and insurance cover in question, and remediation on a live site always runs longer than anyone budgeted for. Get ahead of the auditor. Call us today.
